  • ABOUT THE BOOK
Firefly Jumping has its pages marred with the absolute truth of humanity. Within its lines, you can find the spools of the human mind unfurled in the unsightliest ways, discovered only by those who have the courage to touch the rawness and ugliness of reality. The poems are divided into five visceral segments: Love and Longing, Pain and Resilience, Joy and Hope, Grief and Loss, and Identity and Solitude. Within these themes, you will find more than a mere desire to lament the sufferings that bind us together. These words strip the world, leaving it in an awkward nakedness that you cannot resist, compelling you to look even if all it offers is a black mirror reflecting who you truly are. But that’s the intense, harrowing, unavoidable beauty of it. This beauty forces one to paint her portraits in words, threatening and intimidating them if they refuse to accept her offer of being the muse. The work you hold in your hands may be beautiful, but more than that, it is terrible and necessary. If you wish to feel emotions you never knew existed, read it. If you wish to cut beyond the flesh and taste the human psyche at its truest, read it. Come and explore this vehemence in verse.
    ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Anoushka is a 12th grader who loves to write on the most poignant of subjects, unflinchingly, unfalteringly. She feels that writing helps her integrate her essence into the deepest crevices of humanity and beyond. She lives in Jaipur, a not-so-big and not-so-small city in India and, thus, the heat of the summer 2 p.m. and the bone-chills of the winter 9 p.m. both find a way into her writing. The chaotic thrumming of street vendors on Monday mornings and the lethargy of a dozing stray dog on brooding Sunday afternoons both find a way into her writing. Her passion for storytelling began at a young age. At just ten years old, she wrote her first novel, Mystery of the Dazzling Death Games, and followed it up with another, Felix Thunder and the Mark of the Sun. When she's not writing or reading, you can find her engaging in spirited debates on socio-political issues or watching movies that challenge her perspective on life.

This is not fiction, not a decorative poetry, not comfort writing. It is a record of self-silencing and voices muted by love, fear, duty, and survival. Read it slowly. Or don't read it at all. But if you have ever learned to stay quiet to remain intact, this book is for you. About the Author I belong to a profession, I never chose but now I love it. My own words often raise doubts against my identity though I am seeking my identity within these words. My writing has been an alteration of Inner grief into acceptance. I am none but one who is somehow alienated.

Ocean’s Blue is a journey through love, loss, and the pages in between. It explores the moments when you feel chosen and on the verge of happiness- only for it to slip away, leaving you to mourn a version of yourself. It examines relationships that seem perfect on the surface, yet leave something essential missing, the paradox of having everything and nothing at once. Through poetry and prose, the book captures heartbreak, longing, and the slow, steady ache of losing yourself in an abyss while trying to control the narrative. It is for anyone who has felt the fragility of love, the weight of absence, and the tension of living between what is and what seems almost within reach- a happy ending.
