About The Author
Samraggi Patra is a twenty-two-year-old writer, dancer, and marketing professional from Kolkata, currently living in Bangalore. Is It Enough? is her debut novel, written in the margins of a full-time job, across the kind of exhausting, unglamorous months that Yoon himself would recognise. She does not consider herself an exceptional person. That is precisely why she wrote this book. This world is built (and will continue to be built) as an act of catharsis. In Yoon Tsong, she created a mirror. Is It Enough? is published on her twenty-third birthday, the age at which Yoon begins his own reckoning, in hopes that she will find her reckoning too. She wrote this for every soul that has ever felt that simply existing was not enough. She wrote it, in part, for herself.
About The Book
In the small mountain town of Hwayeon, hidden deep in the heart of Sikkim, passion is a physical manifestation: a visible flame called the Lamp of the Soul that burns in the chest of every person. Artists burn red. Leaders burn gold. Philosophers glow green. Everyone can see it, and the town reads it as a social currency for respect and status. It is identity itself, the proof of one's right to belong and exist. Twenty-three-year-old Yoon Tsong has no flame. He is the son of Hwayeon's passion-seller, the one family entrusted with igniting passion in others, and yet his own chest remains dark. To his town, Yoon is a defect; to his father, a disappointment; to himself, a question he cannot stop asking: Is it enough to simply exist? Is It Enough? explores the crushing friction between external validation and internal peace, between the world's demand for exceptionalism and the quiet dignity of an ordinary life. This is the story for everyone who has ever felt like they were not enough. Yoon's story isn't finished yet. Neither is ours. Volume 2 coming soon
